Terms of service

By accessing thecommercegrowthlab.com and purchasing products or services from The Commerce Growth Lab, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

About our products

The Commerce Growth Lab sells digital products (guidebooks, business toolkits, templates, frameworks, and reference guides) delivered by instant download, and advisory services including consultations and custom plans. Our products are informational and educational tools. They are not a substitute for professional legal, financial, accounting, or business advice.

Consultations

One-to-one consultations are one hour, held by video on Google Meet, and include one week of follow-up support by email. The price is $250, paid in full when you book.

Cancellations: if you cancel at least 48 hours before your session, we refund $200; $50 is non-refundable. If you cancel less than 48 hours before your session, or do not attend, the full $250 is non-refundable.

Rescheduling: you can reschedule with at least 48 hours' notice to a new time within one month of your original session. Once you reschedule, $50 of your payment is non-refundable. If you do not rebook within that month, we keep $50 and refund the remaining $200.

To cancel or reschedule, email hello@thecommercegrowthlab.com. Refunds are made to your original payment method. If you go ahead with a service after your consultation, the full $250 is credited toward your service total.

Services

Our services (Small Business Guidebook, Business Plan, Strategic Plan, Investor's Pitch Deck, and Marketing, Advertising & Sales, each built for you) start with an intake form and a one-hour consultation. The consultation is $250 and is credited toward your service total if you go ahead. We then send you a written scope and price, starting from $1,299. Work begins when the 50% deposit, less the $250 consultation, is paid, and the final 50% is due before delivery. We send an invoice for each payment. Service fees are non-refundable; consultations follow the cancellation terms above.

Community access

Community access is a one-time payment of $250 for lifetime access, charged at checkout. The $250 is non-refundable.

Buyers of The Small Business Guidebook (self-guided or built for you) get their first 3 months of Community access free. No payment method is needed and nothing is charged automatically. About 7 days before your free months end, we email you a link to join for lifetime access for $250. If you do not join, your access ends when your free months end.

If a payment is declined

If a payment is declined or a service invoice is not paid, we will email you a secure link to pay with another card. Until the payment is received, the start of service work or the delivery of final service files is paused. If payment is not received within 14 days, the order is cancelled. Fees already paid remain non-refundable.

Licence and use

When you purchase, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the digital files for your own business purposes. You may:

download and use the files on your own devices;
customise and adapt the templates for your personal or internal business use;
share files internally with employees or contractors working within your business.

You may not resell, redistribute, or sublicense the files, share your download link publicly, use the content to create competing products for sale, or claim the work as your own for external commercial purposes.

Gift cards

Gift cards are digital and are delivered by email to the recipient named at purchase. They can be used on anything from The Commerce Growth Lab, including digital downloads, consultations, services and Community access. They cannot be used to buy another gift card or exchanged for cash. If an order paid with a gift card is refunded, the refund goes back onto the gift card.

Any unused balance stays on the gift card until it is spent. Gift cards do not expire. Gift cards are non-refundable.

Marketing emails

We send marketing emails only to people who have agreed to receive them. When you sign up, we ask you to confirm your email address before we add you to our list. Every marketing email names The Commerce Growth Lab as the sender, includes our mailing address, and has an unsubscribe link that works straight away. You can also change what you receive on our email preferences page; requests made there are completed within 10 business days.

Emails about your orders, downloads and bookings are not marketing, and are sent whether or not you subscribe.

Intellectual property

All content, templates, frameworks, and design within our products are the intellectual property of The Commerce Growth Lab and are protected under Canadian copyright law. Purchase grants a usage licence only. Ownership remains with The Commerce Growth Lab.

Refunds

All sales of digital products are final. Please refer to our Refund Policy for full details.

Disclaimer of warranties

Our products are provided "as is." We do not warrant that the tools will produce specific financial or business results, that the content is suitable for your specific jurisdiction or industry, or that the files will be free from errors. Results depend entirely on how they are applied and your individual business circumstances.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Commerce Growth Lab shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our products or services. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the product or service in question.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta.
